Off-Broadway Musical

Buskers

“BUSKERS,” the Off-B’way musical which starred Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee and Broadway legend Tony Azito (Pirates of Penzance, The Threepenny Opera), Krista Tesreau, Sasha Charnin, Anthony Maricano and a host of others, played in New York at the Stage Arts Theater on West 28th Street. Choreography was by Lillo Way and sets were by Chris J. Shriver. Book, music and lyrics were by Howard Goldberg.

Chretien (Tony Azito), a madcap street performer with a French accent as thick as camembert cheese, is not happy with how the play is proceeding and decides to take over the show, much to the chagrin of Howard Goldberg, the author and director (played by Bob Flannigan). Chretien and Goldberg go to war with each other over control of the play, throwing the entire production and cast into a chaotic and anarchic whirl.

It is our pleasure to post a copy of the Stagebill and the Book in pdf form here, as well as the songs from the demo tape that was used to raise money for the production from backers. The songs were recorded by Howard Goldberg and Colleen Fitzpatrick (“Cats”).
